people | processes | performance
When three guys were able to come together based on the principles of people, processes, and performance, they knew they were in a position to build something special. More than twelve years ago, Nick Esterline and Chris Dischinger started out developing projects together. Together they have developed over 100 million dollars worth of development. Along the way, Quentin Ellis joined the team with 15 years experience as a General Contractor. After going through the development process as both a developer and contractor they felt that something was missing. As a result of that missing link, the trio launched TGC Construction Group.
TGC Construction Group is focused on Retail and Hospitality Construction throughout the midwest and southeast United States, and has excelled in combining its General Contracting experience with it’s development experience by offering it’s superior value to its customers. We are energized by the road ahead of us and are looking forward to working with groups that value the people they work with, the processes they implement, and a performance that offers value to the customer.

Ben hobson | Project Manager
Ben’s 12 years of experience in the construction industry ranges all the way from residential to heavy industrial with various roles as superintendent, safety manager and project manager as of the last three years.
Ben was born and raised in Salina, Kansas and comes from a construction oriented family. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Fire Protection & Safety Engineering with emphasis in Construction Management. While completing his degree, he was able to work full time as a project engineer with Flintco and Manhattan Construction on three campus projects.
Ben’s first role post-graduation was working as a construction engineer for ExxonMobil. He was prominently responsible for championing the mechanical side of construction and safety on both offshore and onshore oil facilities. During this time he lived and worked around the world on multiple high exposure billion dollar projects spending close to four years out of the country.
In 2014, he had an opportunity to get back to the states and make Wichita his permanent home when Crossland Construction hired him to be a project manager in their newest branch office. In this new role, Ben kicked off the Wichita State University Innovation Campus improvements by coordinating all this groundbreaking infrastructure work. On top of this campus work, he was heading up a research facility for DuPont Pioneer Seed, an indoor sports complex back in his home town of Salina and two four story hotels right here in Wichita. He solicited all subcontracts, schedules, weekly project meetings, submittal review, change orders and billing for the duration of the projects.
During all of Ben’s worldly travels, he has met thousands of people, but never once expected to meet the most important person of his life in his own backyard. In 2016, he met his bride Bri, who was finishing up her PhD in Physical Therapy at Wichita State University. Currently they only have a black lab, but have plans of extending their family in the near future.
In 2018, Ben switched hats yet again when he joined TGC Construction Group, transitioning from just the general contractor’s side to being involved in owner development, estimating and construction. When he’s not buried in the plans, he enjoys being at the gym, traveling with his wife, and tinkering on anything that has wheels and an engine.
